Georgetown County Jail Roster Search
The official county inmate lookup is the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Booking and Release page. The sheriff's FAQ says an inmate can be searched by last name, arrest date, or release date. Public entries are embedded on the roster page and can include a mugshot, name, sex, age, date of birth, release date, booking date, arresting agency, charges, and bond when available.
The roster is a county jail and booking tool. It is not the same as a Circuit Court criminal case record, a SCDC state-prison record, a federal Bureau of Prisons record, or a driver record. If a person was sentenced to state prison, the SCDC public inmate search is the better source. If custody alerts are needed, VINELink is the statewide notification path.
Note: Charges and bonds can lag because warrants must be served and Bond Court paperwork must reach the Booking Officer.
Use the Georgetown County Inmate Roster
The Georgetown County roster search is simple, but the best search path depends on what is known. Last-name search works when the spelling is known. Booking or release dates help when the name may be misspelled or the person has already left custody. A record that appears today can change after bond court, release, transfer, or charge updates.

- Review matching entries for the correct name, date of birth, booking date, and arresting agency.
- Read the charges and bond lines, but remember that some entries may not yet show bond.
- Call the Detention Center for custody questions that the public roster does not answer.

Georgetown County Inmate Profile Fields
A Georgetown County inmate profile is a booking entry, not a full criminal court file. It can help identify charges after arrest, the arresting agency, bond where posted, and release status. It does not show a pod, cell, medical flag, warrant number, court date, magistrate, or full case history in the inspected public entry.

Georgetown County Detention Center
Georgetown County Detention Center is the county jail contact for custody, booking, property, medication, legal mail, and other facility questions. The Sheriff's Office is separate from the courthouse. Bond Court takes place at the detention center, but the jail does not decide dispositions, initiate court proceedings, set release dates, or accept money for bonds.

The sheriff app is documented as a public-safety news, tips, and communication app. The research did not confirm an app-only inmate lookup, so the official roster remains the booking and release page.
Georgetown County Bond Court Schedule
Bond information is a common reason a roster entry looks incomplete. The sheriff's FAQ says charges are not posted until warrants are served by the arresting agency, and bond is not posted until Bond Court submits paperwork to the Booking Officer. Georgetown County Jail Visitation
Public video visitation uses the inmate communications system and requires a Pay Tel account. Attorney visits are allowed seven days a week, except during meal periods. Clergy visits must be scheduled through the Assistant Program Director, and the inmate must request the visit in writing. State inmate visitors must be approved and follow the jail's ID, dress, child, locker, and conduct rules.

Georgetown County Inmate Mail
Non-legal detainee mail uses a scanned-mail system. The Facility ID for Georgetown County Detention Center is 5317. Envelopes must include the facility name, detainee name, detainee ID number, and Facility ID or the mail will not be scanned. Mail sent directly to GCDC for non-legal mail is returned to sender after March 3, 2025, because scanned mail is in effect.
Allowed mail is limited to ten pages or fewer per envelope, with a maximum page size of 8.5 by 11. Written pages, typed pages, drawings, greeting cards, and non-Polaroid photos may be allowed. Glitter, glue, tape, 3D parts, electronic components, sexually explicit content, gang content, drug or alcohol content, contraband, nude photos, and illegal content are banned. Physical mail is destroyed after scanning, so originals should not be sent.

Legal mail is the only mail accepted directly at the facility. It must be marked "Legal Mail" and is opened in the detainee's presence at Georgetown County Detention Center, Detainee's Full Name, 2394 Browns Ferry Rd., Georgetown, SC 29440.
Georgetown County Inmate Phone and Commissary
Phone, video, messaging, photo, and mail-scan services are provided through Pay Tel Communications. A Pay Tel account can be set up online or by phone at 800-729-8355. Incoming inmate calls from the jail may show caller ID 843-904-5029, a useful detail for family members who screen unknown numbers.
Commissary money can be deposited online or through the GCDC lobby kiosk. The kiosk accepts cash in any amount or credit and debit card deposits up to $300. Money orders or cashier's checks can be mailed to the inmate with the inmate name on the instrument. McDaniel Supply Company services the kiosk system and charges a transaction fee.

Georgetown County Inmates and SCDC
A person may move from the Georgetown County jail to state custody after sentencing or transfer. FOIA for Georgetown County Jail Records
Sheriff records that do not appear on the public roster may be requested through the sheriff's FOIA process, subject to exemptions. The sheriff's FOIA page lists $0.35 per page, $20 per hour for staff time, possible higher rates for specialized personnel, $5 per disc for media, and a possible 25% down payment. Court case outcomes should be checked with the court record, not inferred from booking data.
