The official online traffic search is the South Carolina Traffic Ticket Search. It is used for eligible Summary Court tickets and some Municipal Court tickets. The system supports citation number, driver's license, or name with date of birth. If a ticket does not appear, contact the Magistrate Court or Municipal Court named on the citation instead of assuming the ticket is gone.

Georgetown County Traffic Courts
Georgetown County's main traffic office is Magistrates / Traffic Court at 333 Cleland Street. The county has six Magistrate Courts, including Central Traffic Court, and judges rotate for Central Traffic Court. Magistrate criminal and traffic jurisdiction covers offenses where punishment does not exceed a $500 fine plus assessments and costs, 30 days in jail, or both. Georgetown County Traffic Record Fields
A traffic court record is the court case or ticket file. It may show the citation number, driver or defendant name, charge, court, due date, court date, fine, payment eligibility, plea, disposition, and failure-to-appear status. Points are generally a driver-record result after a qualifying conviction, not a court-record field in the same sense as the citation and disposition.

Pay or Contest Georgetown Traffic Tickets

The court traffic record and the SCDMV driver record are different files. The court file answers what happened with a ticket in Magistrate or Municipal Court. The driver record answers what SCDMV posted to the person's driving history, points, license status, or suspension record. A free points summary is not proof that a court ticket was dismissed or paid.

Georgetown County Traffic Points
SCDMV says the driver record contains all convictions and the number of points charged under the South Carolina points system. Points are reduced by half after one year from the violation date on the ticket. Beginner's permit, conditional, and special restricted license holders face a six-month suspension if they accumulate six or more points.
DUI is different. SCDMV says certain violations, including DUI, require mandatory license suspension and are not handled under the point system. Georgetown County Driver Record Transactions
SCDMV's online transaction list separates driver-record tasks from court traffic tasks. The list includes Driver Record Points Summary, Obtain Your Certified Driver Record, Request a Collision Report, reinstatement fees, CDL medical certificate status, and license or ID services. A collision report is not the same as a traffic court case, and reinstatement fees are not court fines.

Public Access to Georgetown Traffic Records

Public Index and the traffic ticket search may cover many Summary Court or participating Municipal Court records. Older files, missing tickets, certified copies, and court-date questions may require the court named on the ticket.
